What a wonderful restaurant. We had a fabulous dinner. Great bottle of wine, great service, great bread, appetizer and salad and then the entree - the Pappardelle con Bolognese. O MY! Spataro is one of the best restaurants in Sacramento and the perfect place to grab dinner before heading to the Community Center Theater. I have yet to eat something I didn't like there. The raviolini is one of my favorities, and other good meals have been leg of lamb, pork chop, sole, ragu and lasagna.
They also have one of the best happy hours in Sacramento. Spataro makes a lemoncello drop that is only $4 on the happy hour menu. It's ruined me from ordering lemon drops anywhere else! During happy hour, you could easily have a couple drinks and food for $20.

I am compelled to write you a note on the service and dining experience my partner and I had there on September 16th. WOW! From our entry into the premises to the professional staff, the delights in the food, not only in flavors, but presentation. The space is perfectly decorated, lit, and clean from a customer perspective. Our server Karen P, extremely professional, articulate, knowledgeable about the menu and specials. We did order by her recommendation. The Mat re De' even came by to check on things and got me another glass of wine. The flavors of the foods we ate we tantalizing to the taste buds. The best part for us was when we were having dessert we observed a couple leaving. As they walked by us, the woman stopped at a lighted pillar near by. She did not realize we were watching her move ever so graceful to this pillar. As she passed it she lightly grazed the wood with her fingers and commented to her companion the beauty of the establishment. She was so right!
I am a high-end service provider, and give a comparable experience where I work in Incline Village, Lake Tahoe. You made us feel like our customers feel when they leave our establishment. How REFRESHING!
We stayed at the Sheraton Grand Hotel. We had planned on staying two nights. We only stayed one because the service for the price was horrible in comparison to the delights we experienced with you. Whom ever leads your team my hat is off to you. The staff that follows this leader you have a kiss on each cheek from us. Congratulations for being a truly great establishment. The waiter was courteous, knowledgeable, and timely. When asked to recommend a pizza, he said his favorite was the fungi pizza and it was delicious. When asked to expedite dessert to meet showtime at the Sacto Community Theater, he quickly responded. All items (antipasti, salt cod fritters, fungi pizza, tuna salad, eggplant/polenta, chocolate cake) were served at the proper temperature and extremely tasty.

We were a large group of 14 women celebrating a birthday on Wed. 10/25. Our server (male) was amazing. He answered questions about menu items and made good recommendations. He remembered my special requests and also followed up after the meal to see if I enjoyed my selection of the fettuccini. Plus, he took a nice picture of the group! There were less vegetarian options than I expected on the menu but the kitchen was accommodating about substitutions. It took awhile to get our drinks and food but it was understandable due to the size of our group.

The server was very knowledgeable about the dishes and enthusiastically accommodated a special meat substitution for my dining guest. The server recommended the tomato, basil & mozzarella salad when we were debating about a salad by saying that we might want to try it before the tomatoes go out of season shortly and it was an excellent recommendation. The mozzarella in the salad and on my dish was indescribably good. We were not pressured into ordering a dessert like we are at so many restaurants these days.

My husband and I visited your restaurant last Friday with a gift card I’d received. We had a fabulous time. Excellent bar service, delicate Ciroc martinis, and attentive staff started our night quite well. But it just got better. The hostess gave us a romantic booth and our server Anthony was superb! He is the main reason for my email, I wanted to rave a bit about him.
Not only was his timing and service excellent, he is one of the most knowledgeable servers I've ever had. He described the wines with candor and creative detail, made excellent pairing recommendations, and was just a delight to interact with. Please let him know how much we appreciated his help.
The food was also excellent. I LOVED the beet salad. My husband very much enjoyed the lamb, and my halibut with clams was delicious. I can’t wait to return and try your other house specialties. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Our waiter was exceptional. He spent time explaining the menu and made an effort to accommodate our portion sizes. We had a mix of vegetarian, and meat-eaters. He arranged for our beverages and seating in a professional manner and was timely in attending to our needs throughout the dinner. David's service combined with the sophisticated and quiet surroundings made for a wonderful dining experience. The menu choices were ideal for both our wallet and our tastes.

I took a vegan co-worker to Spataro's for lunch. There were no vegan choices on the menu. However, our server offered to have the chef make a pasta dish for my co-worker. My co-worker really enjoyed it and was surprised that someone would go to such lengths to serve her something off the menu that met her needs (she usually ends up with steamed vegetables when she dines out). I think the chef and the wait staff did a great job of making this person happy.
