As many of you know, we recently closed Spataro Restaurant & Bar. While it’s sad to say goodbye to one of our long-standing restaurants, we are very excited about our newest “farm-to-fork” restaurant concept, Hock Farm Craft & Provisions.
The menu will change with the season and availability of local produce, paying homage to the region’s rich history of agriculture. While some favorites will remain for the duration of the season, others will change weekly, along with daily ‘market’ specials. Chef LaRoche will source many items directly from farmers, but will also frequent the many local farmers’ markets in Downtown. “Chef Spataro helped me build relationships with many local farms and producers over the years. He and Randy pioneered Sacramento’s farm-to-fork movement years ago and I want to reflect that legacy in my menu,” says Chef/Owner LaRoche.
The bar program, headed by Managing Partner Brad Peters, will feature ingredient-driven classic cocktails, often re-imagined with local produce and locally-produced goods.
The design of the Hock Farm Restaurant is an ode to the Sacramento Valley’s rich history and its founder by establishing a modern interpretation of the rustic styles of the 1850’s. By using local and regional fabricators and artisans, such as 12M Design and Reclamation Art + Furniture, Hock Farm brings a fresh and native aesthetic to the burgeoning Sacramento culinary scene. In the spirit of ingenuity, discovery, curiosity and history, Hock Farm celebrates Sacramento’s past with an eye towards the future.
